futsal-leeds.org is an organisation dedicated to developing the futsal game across the city of Leeds.
We are working with the FA, Leeds City Council, West Riding County FA, and Leeds Schools Sport Partnership to provide new opportunities for children to play futsal.
As far as our organisiation is concerned futsal can only help the development of football by bringing to it the skills that we see foreign players use. We want to see the development of both futsal and football players.
Coaching and help is being made available for clubs, schools and inner city social groups to enable them to learn how the game is played. Anyone can be involved take a look at the video below. (please ensure your browser is set to play this).

Yes the new season is upon us and West Yorkshire is represented by Leeds Futsal Club (the new name for FC Barsa - see link below) This season has seen the appointment of a new ex-professional futsal player as Team Manager. Junior Roberti is that man, he is Brazilian, he knows his futsal and wants to win. Junior says "I have always been a winner and I want Leeds FC to challenge for the League play-offs this season" Following recent trials the squad numbers have increased with the intoduction of some Goole based Brazilian futsal players. However the squad is still predominantly English and Junior himself is keen to look for more local talent. During November 2009 futsal-leeds.org held 2 Level 1 courses at Leeds University.

As a result this brought the total number of coaches qualified by way of futsal-leeds.org organised courses in 2009 to 63!
futsal-leeds.org has funding for courses during 2010 however the FA has currently withdrawn this particular qualification course to be replaced with another soon. Once we know what that is and if we can organise more courses, we will let you know.

August 9th saw futsal at the Leeds Asian Festival at Roundhay Park, Leeds. Boys and girls took park in a series of games across the afternoon

On the 19th July futsal-yorkshire.org organised a competition in Bradford. Boys and girls from Leeds, Bradford and Halifax were able to play competitive games in the centre's excellent facilities.

13th June 2009 saw futsal-leeds.org come to the annual Beeston Mela. A competition was arranged between 3 local primary schools on the Crossflatts Park Multi- Use Games Area (MUGA). |

NEWS... 17 NEW FUTSAL COACHES
The 16th of May saw 17 newly qualified Level 1 futsal coaches take to the sports halls of West Yorkshire. This brings the total this year of new coaches to 35.
As before the course was well received. Quote of the year cam from Jamie Grand of Wortley Juniors who attended our February course:
"It was more valuable than the FA Level 1 and 2 put together, and that was just in 7 hours!"

NEWS... futsal-leeds.org's first futsal academy is open in North Leeds. It's based at Allerton High School, Alwoodley, Leeds on Saturday mornings. It's hoped that this is the first of a number of Academies which will open this year. For details click here |

Leeds based Coach Operators Geldards Coaches are helping futsal-leeds.org with their coaching plans by a donation to fund coaching over the next three years. This will provide 60 hours of coaching in schools and inner city areas. Futsal-leeds.org are grateful to proprietors Terry and Martin Geldard for their generous donation which fulfils our requirements to obtain independent funding in addition to that received from the Football Foundation.
